Thank you for sharing this. I have never been on twitter/X or tiktok and I recently deactivated my facebook account. I limit my instagram to less than an hour a day and hope to wean myself off of that.
I am inspired by your post and your determination to give up social media. Like you, I have been told that, as a writer, it is important to be on social media. But it is a time suck that sometimes consumes me. I wish I had the courage to do as you have done. Perhaps your post will motivate me to do the same.
It might not be the smartest creative-business decision but it is the best decision for my overall wellness - which includes weight professional wellness/financial wellness/emotional wellness etc. For me, it made sense to delete social media apps.
I so hear you. I hate social media so much but feel trapped on it for book promotion. I just may follow your lead, though.
That's the rub! It is good for book promotion! I'm looking for other ways to have a platform such as building my mailing list.
